Above 50 HP vs Below 50 HP Retail Tractor Sales in June 2025

The retail tractor market in India for June 2025 showed a huge variation in sales between the above 50HP and below 50HP segments. This data revealed the buyer preferences and brand performance across these two power categories.

Top 3 Contenders in the Above 50 HP (TREM IV) Tractors Division

In the race for the best tractor in the market for above 50 HP (TREM IV), John Deere has once again come out on top in June 2025. The brand sold 526 units, giving it a significant 36.86% market share. 

Mahindra & Mahindra (Tractor Division) came in second, selling 455 units in June 2025, which gives them a market share of 31.89%. Swaraj occupied the 3rd position and sold 146 units in June 2025. 

The total sales of these top three brands are 78.98% of the total retail sales of 1,427 units in the above 50 HP segment.

Top 3 Contenders in the Below 50 HP Tractors Division

In the below 50 HP tractor market, Mahindra emerged as the talk of the farming community this June 2025. They sold around 17,062 units, earning a solid 22.80% market share. 

In June 2025, Swaraj sold 14,139 tractors below 50 HP, which is 18.89% of total sales in this segment. Sonalika got the 3rd spot by selling 10,038 tractors in the segment.

The total sales of these top 3 brands are 55.1% of the total tractor retail sales of 74,844 units in the below 50 HP segment. 

Above 50 HP TREM IV Tractor Sales from April to June 2025

Let's take a glance at the above 50 HP (TREM IV) retail tractor sales during the first quarter of the current financial year. John Deere sold the highest 1,523 units, which was 36.06% of the total market share. 

By selling 1,386 units, Mahindra came in second, accounting for 32.82% of total sales. The third place went to Swaraj, which sold 438 units and occupied 10.37% of the market share. The sales done by these three bands are 79.25% of the total sales of 4,223 units. 

Below 50 HP Tractor Sales from April to June 2025

In the below 50 HP tractor segment, Mahindra topped the table with 46,696 units sold, making up 23.09% of total below 50 HP tractor sales. 

Swaraj came second with 39,099 units, holding 19.33%. Sonalika sold 27,250 units, capturing 13.47% of the market. Combined, these three states account for nearly half of the total tractors sold (2,02,236 units) in this power range during the first quarter of FY’26.

Conclusion

John Deere sold the most tractors in the above 50 HP segment. Their tractors work well, their after-sales service is superb, and their engines are fuel-efficient. While Mahindra beat the game in the below 50 HP segment, showcasing its strength in the commonly used tractors sector.
